I’m Interested in Adding Supplemental Instruction to My Course
What is Supplemental Instruction?
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a weekly peer-facilitated group study opportunity offered to students currently enrolled in historically-challenging courses and “gateway” courses. SI sessions are led by an “SI Leader”, a student who has previously excelled in the course and remains active in the current course offering through lecture attendance, taking notes, meeting with the course instructor, and serving as a model student in the classroom. SI sessions are designed by the SI Leader to encourage attendees to actively engage in directed collaborative group activities and discussions that prepare students for increased course content mastery and exam readiness.
